- Abstract
The article describes the case of a 30-year-old Japanese man who initially manifested as marked proptosis with decreased vision and ocular pain. At the time of surgery, the marked proptosis rapidly worsened into eyeball luxation. It discusses posttraumatic Bacillus cereus panophthalmitis which can be associated with double-penetrating ocular injury. It emphasizes the severity of ocular infection, the rapid progress of proptosis and the urgent need for surgical intervention.
