- Title
Frangula alnus Miller.
- Abstract
The article discusses Frangula alnus in Great Britain. It is a bush or a small tree with branches which are not very regular and which appear in alternating pairs. Its bark is smooth, except for very old trees, while buds are naked with small leaves covered with brown hairs. Moreover, flowers are borne in small groups and are pentamerous. Frangula alnus appears in six types of habitat such as alkaline fen peat, modified raised bogs, and scattered undergrowth in woodland. Information regarding the species' geographical and altitudinal distribution and performance in other habitats is also presented.
