- Title
Fearghus Roulston, Belfast Punk and the Troubles: An Oral History.
- Authors
Coulter, Colin
- Abstract
, Manchester: Manchester University Press, 2022; 192 pp.: ISBN: 9781526152237, £85.00 The legends of the Belfast punk scene have been recounted time out of number and almost always, curiously, in precisely the same way. From the outset, Roulston discloses some misgivings at the "hegemonic cultural memory" of Belfast punk as creating a deliberately and explicitly anti-sectarian space. Roulston's reflections on his interview material draw him to a critical, if perhaps understated, insight into the early years of Belfast punk.
