- Abstract
This paper focuses on the integration of francophone refugees in Winnipeg, Manitoba and sheds light on the various factors of the integration of refugees in a linguistic minority context. We conducted a qualitative research relying on semi-structured interviews with 41 refugees, in order to highlight the economic, linguistic and sociocultural factors involved in the participants' integration. We analyzed the findings according to the theoretical model of Yosso (2005) on community cultural wealth, as well as according to the theoretical orientation of interactionism. Data analysis revealed the existence of many barriers linked to employment and to the minority status of the French language, but also the predominance of social and community networks that support sociocultural integration. The paper concludes with some reflections regarding problematics around integration.
