This section provides information on several industrial research in progress on politics, government and industrial relations, as of April 1983. They include research on economic theories to explain why some cities have established residency requirements for their employees, research on the long-run evolution of relations between labor, management and the state, utilizing the industrial relations systems perspective, and research on the impact of the recommendations of the British Task Force on Labor Relations on labor legislation, trade union growth and industrial conflict.
