The article reviews several computer programs intended to help software developers create graphical representations of their programs' code, including the program Dot, which is part of the GraphViz software suite originally made by AT&T; the program Pic, which is included as part of the GNU Groff typesetting software; and the program Gnuplot by Thomas Williams and Colin Kelley.
