- Abstract
This paper deals with the issue of cultures of learning through comparisons between Chinese students learning French in France and French students learning a foreign language in France. Appraisal of speaking activities, cognitive styles in speaking training, interaction with teacher and vocabulary memorization between the two publics are involved. The results of this research show that the two cultures are very different. Moreover, the comparative approach based on the participants' witnesses is proved necessary to understand the reality of cultures of learning, which are unstable in space and in time. In addition, this approach makes rethink about some clichés on both cultures of learning involved.
