- Abstract
We now have a much better understanding of how Japan's Cold War and early post-Cold War military doctrines came about. Its chapters cover the inception of the I kibanteki boeiryoku i framework (chapter 1), the post-inception period (chapter 2), the second Cold War period (chapter 3), the early post-Cold War period (chapter 4), and the post-9/11 period (chapter 5). Studies of diplomatic history related to postwar Japanese security policy are flourishing.
