- Abstract
The article offers information on a study of iron-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions using spectroscopic methods. The hydrogenation reactions of alkenes and alkynes catalyzed by transition iron metal are a most important synthetic transformation that has found use in synthesis of fine chemicals, pharmaceuticals and in petrochemical conversion. It states that X-ray absorption spectroscopic (XAS) studies of the active catalytic species aid in determining their nature and compositions.
