- Abstract
Field studies were conducted during 2010 and 2011 to evaluate the response of 6 domestic and currently the most used winter wheat cultivars in the Republic of Macedonia to 2,4-D+florasulam applied at three different growth stages. Herbicide was applied at recommended rate (0.6 1/ha) at full tillering, (Zadoks 25), the first joint (Zadoks 31), and the second joint (Zadoks 32) growth wheat stages. 2,4-D+florasulam applied at Zadoks 25 did not significantly reduced yield components and yield of all tested cultivars, except spike density and yield of Bistra. Some of the wheat cultivars showed considerable reduction of spike density, stem height and grain yield when herbicide was applied at Zadoks 31 but, many wheat cultivars were the most susceptible when herbicide was applied in Zadoks 32. In this stage, 2,4-D+florasulam significantly reduced spike density, stem height and grain yield. Herbicide treatment did not significantly reduce only the spike length in any growth stages in both years. The most susceptible cultivar to 2,4-D+florasulam, particularly when applied at Zadoks 31 and Zadoks 32, was Bistra, and, from the other side, the most tolerant were Orovčanka and Treska.
