- Abstract
The authors examine the implications of the U.S. Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) for the treatment and the course of chronic diseases in the U.S. They cite factors that determine the degree to which the PPACA will bring changes in chronic disease management in the country. They discuss the manner in which the new law will directly affect health care delivery through its provisions, including the expansion of insurance coverage. The authors also mention the factors that limit the benefits of the PPACA.
