- Abstract
This article shows Manuel Chaves Nogales's key ideas (Sevilla, 1897 - Londres, 1944) about journalism. With this purpose, texts about the profession written by Chaves Nogales were collected. He was one of the most outstanding journalists of the II Spanish Republic , sub-director of moderate journal "Ahora," the most successful journal of that epoch; he had to exile first in Paris, due to the civil war and then to London after the entrance of Nazi German to France. His measured character, democratic and republican, far from the extremes of Nazism and Communism, character of a "little liberal middle-class person," as he defined himself, propitiated that he was forgotten for several years. Only in the last times, his works- an example of modern journalism-has been reedited in Spain with ah great success of the critic and readers as well.
