- Abstract
The article explores the measurement of hemoglobin A1c to diagnose diabetes and prediabetes. Researchers are warned about the disadvantages of using hemoglobin A1c measurement. The results of a study on the concentration of HbA1c in patients with sickle cell trait (SCT) are discussed, as well as the use of some ion-exchange high-pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) techniques in measuring hemoglobin A1c.
