- Abstract
A field experiment was conducted at Instructional Farm, College of Agriculture Bikaner during kharif 2008 to study effect of sulphur and Iron fertilization on productivity of mungbean. Results showed significant increase in yield attributes viz; seed and straw yields were recorded under 40 kg S/ha as gypsum and gypsum+elemental sulphur (1:1) over control. Significantly improved seed yield and straw yield 19.58 and x percent over control, Also, the maximum net return Rs. 25291 /ha and Rs. 24900 / ha, respectively was recorded with 40 kg S/ha as gypsum+elemental sulphur (1: 1) and 40 kg S/ha as gypsum source along with respective B : C ratio of 3.26 and 3.22 as against the minimum values observed under control treatment. Further, data revealed that 25 kg FeSO4 /ha as basal application significantly increased yield attributes viz; seed and straw yields was significantly improved with both 25 kg FeSO4 as basal dose and foliar spray of 0.5% FeSO4 at 25 and 40 DAS in comparison to control. Application of 25 kg FeSO4/ha as basal dose, foliar spray of 0.5% FeSO4 and 0.5% FeS04 + 0.1% citric acid solution at 25 and 40 DAS gave significantly higher protein content in seed and N, S and Iron concentration in seed and straw of mungbean compared to control. In mungbean, application of 25 kg FeSO4 as basal dose or 0.5% FeSO4 foliar spray at 25 and 40 DAS proved statistically at par and fetched the maximum net returns and B : C ratio while the minimum values noted under control.
