- Abstract
The article examines the effect of economics on health care policy in the U.S. as of summer 2014. It compares tradeoffs in budget shares between 1964 and 2013 which include budget of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), Social Security, and Medicare and Medicaid. It concludes on the role of opportunity costs in the future of DoD spending amid the health care crisis.
