- Abstract
Introduction: Liposarcoma of the vulva is extremely rare, it represents a diagnostic challenge for the gynecologist as well as the pathologist, there are few cases reported in the literature. We present a case of pleomorphic liposarcoma of the vulva, the first reported at the National Oncological Institute in Panama. Case report: This is a 52-year-old woman with a one-year history of a tumor on the right labia majora of the vulva, with accelerated growth in recent months associated with ulceration. The biopsy reported high-grade malignant mesenchymal neoplasia. She was taken After surgery, hemivulvectomy and flap reconstruction, the resection margins were negative. Postoperative evolution without adverse events. Conclusions: Pleomorphic liposarcoma of the vulva is an extremely rare entity; biopsy of the vulvar tumor is crucial for planning surgery, the treatment of choice in most cases. Adjuvant treatment is individualized and follow-up could be close.
