- Abstract
The article offers information with regards to Pacific Coast Militia Rangers (PCMR). It was formed early 1942 to protect British Columbia (BC) calm unease over possible enemy after war with Japan in December 1941. They were soldiers in Great Britain who could not serve in the regular forces because they were physically unfit, too old, or needed in valuable war work and played a significant role during the BC wartime. The ranger companies assembled evenings and weekends to learn guerrilla tactics, and there was very little drill. The primary objective of the PCMR was to meet the public demand for action and Canadian Rangers continue the role, mission of PMCR after the Second World War.
