- Abstract
The article presents a study aims to prepare blood-contacting materials from human serum albumin (AL) containing poly(hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (pHEMA). It mentions that the AL with pHEMA was synthesized via ultraviolet (UV)-iniated photopolymerization at 25 degree Celsius for blood-contacting hydrogel networks. It says that the study coated the surface of the pHEMA and pHEMA-AL-3 hydrogel compositions with heparin (HEP) to increase the blood compatibility and prevent thrombus formation.
