- Title
Interpreting in Alternate Realities.
- Authors
RUSSELL, DAKOTA
- Abstract
The article talks about alternate reality games (ARGs) which are narrative based games that play out in the real world. A pioneer of such program is revolutionary-era living history site Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia which premiered the game RevQuest: The Sign of the Rhinoceros. The principle behind ARG is that games are built to offer challenges and by playing a game one goes into a heightened engagement, actively look for the next clue, and invest oneself in the outcome of one's efforts.
