- Title
Alternative Strategies for Family History Projects: Rethinking Practice in Light of Indigenous Perspectives.
- Authors
McCoy, Meredith L.; Sabzalian, Leilani; Ender, Tommy
- Abstract
The article considers classroom experiences for kindergarten through grade 12 students about family history and genealogy, especially to indigenous students, but also considering the bias of such lessons that favor Eurocentric biological middle- and upper-class families, leaving children from foster families, those that move often, immigrants, those descended from slaves and others to be left out of the classroom experience and feeling othered.
