- Abstract
This paper deals with the estimation of multi element stress strength system reliability R when the stress and strength follow Burr type X distributions. The maximum likelihood and Bayesian methods are used to obtain the point estimates of R, and the confidence intervals of R are obtained via the delta and MCMC methods. The performances of the different point estimation methods and their corresponding confidence intervals are compared via the extensive simulation studies. To illustrate the effectiveness of the developed model and methods, a real data set is utilized.
