- Abstract
The effects of adiabatic cooling on the convection in the anelastic model of the liquid core of the Earth are considered. It is shown that even minor adiabatic cooling causes significant changes in the pattern of the convection, shifting the peak in the convection intensity to the inner part of the core. Just as in the Boussinesq model, both direct and inverse kinetic energy cascades are simultaneously present, and the direct cascade of entropy is observed.
