- Abstract
The article focuses on a report on a minor research project about the socio-economic profile of women prisoners in India. According to estimates, the number of crimes committed by Indian women has increased by 362.53% from 1971 to 1990. The need to carry out intensive research on female criminality to be able to understand the problem is stressed. The study is aimed at aiding social reformers to identify what influences women to commit crimes and create measures for their rehabilitation.
