- Authors
Beam, Myrl
- Abstract
The article focuses on the Midwestern queer youth organization District 202 which offers a fascinating window into the political shift and the role that the nonprofit structure has had in it. Topics include District 202's efforts in youth leadership development programming, street outreach to homeless youth, and HIV prevention programming, and despite its popularity among queer youth in the mid-1990s and 2000s, District 202 struggled with financial instability and its political mission.
