- Title
Climate-change modeling finds many crop yields are likely to decline.
- Authors
Parker, Ann
- Abstract
The article examines the study of the effect of climate change on crops conducted by scientists at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), Merced, California-based University of California. It reveals that California's six most valuable crops, namely, wine grapes, almonds, table grapes, oranges, walnuts and avocados are likely to decline in production due to climate change by 2050. It adds that there are also other California crops that will remain unaffected by the change.
