- Abstract
The author widens the bounds of salons and salon culture to include what she calls salon poems, those that allude to or summon up salon experiences or comparable forms of sociability. Topics discussed include production and reception of Victorian poetry, sociability inherent in the creation and reception of poetry, and the social lives and social forms of Victorian poetry that rely on performance and discussion as well as on print.
