- Abstract
A criticism is presented of the narrative poem "Idylls of the King" by 19th century English poet Alfred Tennyson. Topics discussed include Tennyson's use of the character Guinevere, his contrasting uses of feasting and fasting in the poem, and the ways in which his portrayal of gender in the poem mirrors the gender roles present in Victorian-era British culture.
