- Abstract
The article offers poetry criticism of sonnets by Victorian poet and painter Dante Gabriel Rossetti. It explores paintings by Rossetti, including "The Girlhood of Mary Virgin" and "Found" in light of the sonnet "Found" and two sonnets titled "Mary's Girlhood." Themes discussed include the education of the Virgin Mary, the relationship between poetry and paintings, and symbolism of pregnancy and sexual maturity in Rossetti's work.
