The article discusses the role of fish hatcheries in mitigating the destruction of fisheries from environmental degradation, predators, and numerous hydroelectric facilities. It explores the benefits of hatchery production in terms of commercial, recreational, and subsistence of the indigenous tribes. It adds that hatcheries play a vital role in fulfilling various treaty and statutory commitments between the American society and tribal nations.
