The article discusses the decision of the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals regarding ignorance of accepted meaning of "actuarial equivalent" in mathematics. It cites specific reference of the court case Esden v. Bank of Boston, West v. AK Steel Corp. Retirement Accumulation Pension Plan and Dennard v. Richards Group Inc. It also informs about the laws of mathematics apply in cases of the U.S. Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974.
