- Abstract
Virgin Drosophila melanogaster were mated in culture vials containing Vinblastine, dissolved in distilled water, at concentrations of 0, 0.16, 0.31, 0.63, 1.25, and 2.5 μg/ml. Progeny were examined daily from the 10th through the 17th days. The frequency of teratogenic effects increased with the concentration. A distinct cephalo-caudal gradient of the ectodermal tissue was observed with cephalic anomalies predominating. Eyes, antennae, wings, halteres, head, and thorax showed notable anomalies.
