- Abstract
The article discusses the cancer risks of hairdressers. It mentions that their exposure to harmful chemicals in hair dyes increases the risks for lung, larynx, bladder, ovary, breast, kidney, and colon cancers, as well as multiple myeloma, Hodgkin's disease, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and leukaemia. It also states that chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) and mental disorders are also common among hairdressers. Better salon ventilation systems and hygiene measures are suggested to reduce the risks.
