- Title
Shhh! RNAi-dependent and -independent pathways at work.
- Authors
Mullard, Asher
- Abstract
The article reports on the study conducted which examines whether small interfering RNAs (siRNAs) are generated by the marker gene ura4 to the edges of cwentromeric region. The researcher discovered that Cid14 stays in a complex that includes Mtr4, a nuclear cofactor of the exosome. Moreover, the data gathered in the inquiry revealed that centromeric heterochromatin regions, as well as the inserted transgenes, are chosen from both RNAi-dependent and independent machineries.
