- Title
Inflammation: TLRs find a partner in crime.
- Authors
Bird, Lucy
- Abstract
The article discusses the study which reveals that partnership of scavenger receptor CD36 triggers the endogenous proteins and induce innate immune responses underlying sterile inflammatory diseases. It states that the study describes a new mechanism of sterile inflammation commonly shows in atherosclerosis and Alzheimer's disease. It mentions that scavenger triggers the assembly of Toll-like receptor 4 and heterodimers leading to the induction for pro-inflammatory responses of these diseases.
