- Title
T cell differentiation: Inhibiting TH17 cells.
- Authors
Bell, Elaine
- Abstract
The article highlights a study which found that halofuginone is a specific inhibitor of T cell differentiation and acts by activating the amino acid starvation response (AAR). The authors of the study found that halofuginone can impair the TH17 cell differentiation and interleukin-17 (IL-17) expression. It was also observed that the genes that were upregulated following halofuginone treatment were associated with amino acid transport and biogenesis.
