The article focuses on the diasporic orientation of the journal "Callaloo". Topics discussed include role of the journal as a place for creative writing and critical scholarship through translations, reviewing of articles contributed by writers such as Melvin Dixon, Herberto Cuadrado Cogollo and Jacques Roumain, and efforts of showing receptivity to all contributors by the founder Charles Rowell.
