- Abstract
Presents an interview with Haitian author Lionel Trouillot about his understanding and notion of a callaloo and its possible role in creative and intellectual life. He also talks about the role of "Callaloo" journal in black cultural production and shares his insights on the relation between visual image and text and creative text and theory. The changes in Haiti, the major elements of Haitian popular culture, and the Haitian national identity are also highlighted.
