The article reports on the study which shows that activated nuclear diaphanous-related formins (mDia) promotes the assembly of a nuclear actin network. It shows that cells expressing a dominant-negative mDia mutant that localizes exclusively to the nucleus exhibited decreased serum-induced serum response factor (SRF) activity compared with control cells. It confirms that serum rapidly induces nuclear actin polymerization.
