- Abstract
The article focuses on the impact of the sentencing structure of courts in the U.S. on the systems for the administration of criminal justice. As stated, in proposing and evaluating reforms in sentence structure it is important to have sufficient knowledge of the administrative needs of a criminal justice system. It states that sentencing affects the Community in various ways as it causes deterrence of potential offenders. The sentencing also protects potential victims of crime by incapacitating dangerous offenders.
