- Abstract
The article focuses on the Veterans Emergency Housing Program (VEHP) of U.S. president Harry S. Truman's Administration. It states that VEHP was implemented on December 20, 1945, under the Civilian Production Administration Priorities Regulation 33, which distributes building materials for low- and medium-price housing. It reports on the decontrol wage and prices by Truman on November 15, 1946, and the announcement by the U.S. Housing Expeditor Wilson Wyatt that all VEHP controls would be maintained. It presents information on the objectives, characteristics and government agencies cooperating in VEHP, including the Civilian Production Administration, the War Assets Administration, and Reconstruction Finance Corp.
