- Authors
NELSON, HERBERT U.
- Abstract
The article discusses several issues related to urban housing and land use in the U.S. It proposes basic points for a sound national housing program and discusses the federal housing policies. One of the points is to have a central mortgage discount bank to coordinate the whole mortgage system of the country. Another point is modernization of the tax system to remove present handicaps against housing advance. It is stated that any federal housing plan for the creation of shelter requires separation of long term and short-term credit in the banking structure.
