- Abstract
The article investigates out-migration patterns of an American Jewish community in the middle western U.S. The author explores on the causes of out-migration, community characteristics, relationship between assimilation and mobility and the interrelation between migration and intentions to move. Specifically, it focuses on the trend wherein the Jewish community gave the appearance of great stability, but actually is suffering from a youth drain. Concluding that the migration of young people may be expected to contribute to the cycle of weaker family ties.
