- Title
"I know you!": The Implications of Knowing In Joyce Carol Oates's Marya: A Life.
- Authors
Kealey, Josephene T. M.
- Abstract
A literary criticism of the book "Marya: A Life," by Joyce Carol Oates is presented. It examines the preface of the book which offers a long explanatory note of the personal nature of the novel and shows how should readers approach the story. The author also argues that the central struggle of the novel's main character named Marya' concerning her adult life was to detangle herself from the understanding of knowledge.
