- Abstract
A rapid, sensitive and selective spectrophotometric method was developed to determination furosemide in its pure form and pharmaceutical preparations, the method depend on the reaction of oxidative coupling with 2,4-di-nitrophenyl hydrazine in a basic medium in the presence of potassium periodate to give a brown product measured at 467 nm. Bear's law limits (0.4- 14 ppm), molar absorptivity), 1.189×104I.mol-1.cm-1), correlation coefficient (0.9989), Sandall's sensitivity (0.0279mg/cm2), LOD(0.119 ppm) and the method was applied successfully on pharmaceuticals.
