- Abstract
This research proposes to study succinctly, following the work of Foucault, two texts of Plato in two different contexts: at the time of the apogee of Athenian democracy, that on Alcibiades, and at the time of the decadence of Greek cities and democracies, his Letter VII. In both cases, it is adult education, the first, Alcibiades, pretender to the management of the city, the second, Denis II, newly in office. In both cases, it is a question of identifying the presuppositions and obstacles for the ideas of education and training to contribute to the increase of ethical awareness and the realization of politics. The goal is to show how this approach proposed by the young and the last Plato, can still revitalize the idea of adult formation in the context which, like ours, has extirpated under the influence of the model of modern sciences, from the field of education and formation all metaphysical questions as those that nevertheless give meaning to our actions, to our existence and that of the world.
