- Abstract
The article discusses a study on the association between overweight/obesity prevalence and age at arrival of immigrants to the U.S. The researchers analyzed data from the New Immigrant Survey (NIS), which represents adult immigrants with newly acquired legal permanent residence (LPR). The findings showed that immigrants below 20 years old at arrival in the U.S. may be at a higher risk of overweight/obesity with increasing duration of residence than those who arrive at later ages.
