- Abstract
The article discusses the results of a study on the prevalence of weight loss maintenance in a population-based sample of German adults. About 17.7% of overweight adults said they have maintained a weight loss of ≥10% of their maximum weight for at least 1 year. Nearly 27% of participants who reported maximum weight in the obese range had successful 1-year weight loss maintenance. Overweight participants who are younger, female and have higher maximum body mass index (BMI) tend to have a successful 1-year weight loss maintenance.
