- Abstract
The article describes the case of a 48-year-old triathlete diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) who receive oral therapy education after being prescribed the oral drug dasatinib following an increase in white blood cells and greater than 20% blast cells. Topics covered include the importance of teaching patients and caregivers of safe handling, storage and disposal of oral medication, and potential drug and food interactions as important components of oral therapy education.
