INTRODUCTION: FROM OSSEOINTEGRATION TO OSSEOPERCEPTION. THE FUNCTIONAL TRANSLATION.

- Abstract
The article presents information about a symposium about the function translation from osseointegration to osseoperception. The first scientifically designed dental implants followed 10 years of bone biology research and implant development using commercially pure titanium (CPTi). Clinical research assessing long-term outcomes has confirmed the reliability and predictability of CPTi implants placed in the maxillae and the mandible, following a prescribed protocol. Reconstruction of the edentulous jaws in this way allows excellent long-term function. understood, there is emerging evidence of specific cytokine regulation of bone healing and bone remodelling that influences the cellular response and encourages integration.
