- Abstract
The article looks at executive leadership development in business enterprises, as of 2012. The author notes that a large block of baby boomers are nearing retirement age and suggests many businesses have not paid enough attention to leadership development for their replacement. She discusses the different skills associated with success as a rising manager versus as a business-wide strategic leader, citing examples including communication and delegating of work. Suggested leadership development strategies are provided.
